What a quaint little neighborhood restaurant! Huge selections of specialty rolls, plus regular full menu. Sushi was well made and was very creative. My husband is on low carb diet, he really enjoyed the Naruto Roll made with no rice. Diced Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, and Avocado were wrapped in cucumber slices, decorated with Flying Fish Roe. I ordered the Sky Roll and never had anything like it. Minced Spicy Salmon was mixed with Tempura crunch to form a square base, Rice and Spicy Tuna were in the middle, topped with Lobster Salad and Red Tobiko, drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayonnaise sauce. It was delicious!
Went to Akida one random night with my wife. Happened upon it just searching for Richmond's best sushi and it happened to be close to where we were. I'm very glad we went there! The sushi was ridiculously fresh and tasty! The wife and I sat at the sushi bar and ate there as this is unfortunately a very small place. But if you like sushi this is the place to go, even if you have to wait for a seat!
What a hidden gem! The staff was kind and efficient. The menu was filled with great entree options, including combo deals which came with the best Miso soup I've had in a while. The food was delicious and I can't wait to go back to try their Udon!
Have eaten in and gotten take out plenty of times. Nice and cozy inside, always clean. Never had an order wrong, and have enjoyed every roll I've gotten here. Service is quick and kind. I really appreciate the dumpling drawing I got on my last order.
I think the bad reviews this place is receiving is from people that don’t enjoy a simple no frills restaurant. The portions are massive. The biggest portions I’ve ever received at a sushi restaurant for a really good price. The quality is good and it’s a super cute hole in the wall vibe. Loved that you didn’t have to place a reservation!
